We were picked up at the airport and hospitably accomodated
in Daniels and Steffis house in a suburb of Portland
they have a hummingbird feeder!!!
totally amazed me.
On the next day they took us on a trip to Cannonbeach
It was all brumous and misty and we took a nice and long promenade
-after that we were getting to know the true promise of 'american food',
when eating pizza/fries/burger in a restaurant near the beach.
(really tasty but h e a v y)
a rusty well at the beach...
That evening they drove us into town, were we went to our hostel,
checked in and took another promenade, through portland, by night.
